Construction & Development

A team led by Deputy Director Ahmad Bilal of NHA has commenced ground work, including land clearing, bush and tree removal, and earth filling. The Frontier Works Organization (FWO) has been tasked with construction under a public-private partnership (PPP) on a build-operate-transfer (BOT) model.

Concerns & Suggestions

Though the original design included six lanes, the current plan is limited to four. Local business communities and residents have raised concerns about future traffic congestion, suggesting the government consider extending it to six lanes as originally proposed.

In addition, there had initially been no direct link from Gujrat City to M-11. However, this issue was highlighted by MNA Moonis Elahi and supported by former Prime Minister Imran Khan, leading to its inclusion.

Future Expansion: Lahore to Islamabad in Record Time

The motorway is expected to eventually extend to Islamabad, completing a direct and shortest route between Lahore and Islamabad. Once finished, it will reduce travel time and offload traffic from the existing GT Road corridor.

Conclusion

The Kharian-Sambrial Motorway project is a transformative development for the region. For investors, developers, and residents of Citi Housing Kharian and Gujrat, this is a golden opportunity to capitalize on future growth.
